Dale Clevenger is a versatile musician in many areas including chamber music, jazz, commercial recordings, solos, and conducting. Since 1966 he has been Principal Horn of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra

The Chicago Daily News stated "Dale Clevenger is a horn player fit to rank with the greatest masters of that intractable instrument, the horn."

The Chicago Tribune Stated " Dale Clevenger has been widely [and justly] admired in every musical capacity, weather it be as concerto soloist, chamber player or simply anchoring the horn section that many would consider the finest in the world."
